Bruce Taxis was founded by Alex Bruce back on 1st April 1983. Alex started out in a small office in Gowan Avenue Falkirk with a handful of cars and over the years grew to a well-established fleet of 130 taxis. As the business grew we moved premises a fare few times, including a purpose built building in Middlefield for Taxi Hire and Car Sales and in 2009 we moved to our current state of the art office and workshop premises at Bankside in Falkirk, serving the transport needs of a wide variety of clients throughout the Falkirk Area and beyond.
Bruce Taxis have always been at the forefront of technology and operate the latest Autocab booking and despatch system with IVR and Smartphone booking APP. All our staff are fully trained on our system, call handling and customer service before they take live calls and they build up an excellent knowledge of the Falkirk and surrounding areas ensuring a fast and efficient service to customers and equality and fairness to all drivers.
Alex vision was to operate the biggest and best taxi service to the Falkirk District with well presented smart drivers, fully maintained new model cars and proficient office staff and over the years and in particular the last 15 years the business changed radically to meet the changing needs of the traveller. We now supply a wide variety of transport including Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles, 8 Seater Vehicles and Saloon cars to a wide and varied clientele 24 hours per day 365 days per year.
Building up a great reputation over the years, Bruce Taxis is still essentially a Family Business with Alex two Daughters running the company. Current Managing Director Laura has worked with the company for over 15 years and oversees the running of the Taxi and Workshop side of the business and Director, Emma has worked at the firm for over 13 years and ensures the smooth running of the Taxi Control Room and Wedding Hires.
We value the importance of having excellent staff who have been with the company throughout its growth, our accounts office is managed by Doreen who has been with the company for nearly 30 years and takes care of all our local authority contracts and customer accounts. Our workshop foreman has been with us for 20 years and has seen the fleet grow from 30 company owned vehicles to 85. We have a 5 yearly or 220,000 miles replacement policy and all cars are bought new and full service history is kept.
In 2011 Bruce Taxis were proud to announce the purchase of Blue Star Taxis Ltd. This acquisition has made us the largest taxi service in the Falkirk area allowing us the opportunity to provide all our customers with a more efficient service. All Blue Star drivers and vehicles operate under the Bruce Taxis umbrella therefore it will always be a BRUCE Taxi that collects you.
